Sr. Mary Cecilia Torres, Provincial Treasurer, in her report, stated that the management of province finances was risky and challenging because of the socio-political and economic realities in the country and in the world. But she was confidently guided by an article in the Constitution , “the material resource of the congregation are at the service of our mission and to meet the needs of the sisters (RGS 135/CGS 122).
She reported on the funds
shared to the poor through local communities, the direct financial assistance to
the poor, the Jubilee “cancellation of debts”, the parish based advocacy program
and grant shared to ministries for the poor. There were also donations to
ministry to women which were shared to local communities.
