SBC-RSB relief operations for those affected
by Taal Volcano eruptions continue

St. Bridget College Operation Rise-Up and Shine Bataguenos (SBC-RSB) continues to visit those affected by Taal Volcano eruption in various parts of Batangas. 

Sr. Clare Bagot, president of SBC, said that since January 14, donations have been given to evacuees in Dumantay, East Elementary School, Capitolio (Dreamzone), Balete Elementary School, Gulod Evacuation Center, Sumuclay Evacuation Center, Tingga Itaas Evacuation Center, Sports Complex Evacuation Center and Tingga Labac. A total of 390 families received bags of relief goods.


January 15. Donations were also given to those in Banaba West, Conception Elementaty School, Office of GSP, RK Village Sto Nino (Taal, Agoncillo, San Nicolas), Malalim, Durungao Elementary School, Bolbok, Muzon 1, Paharang, San Jose, San Isidro, Malvar, San Pascual, Manghinao, Rosario (Mac A Elementary School), Bungahan Ibaan Elementary School, LPU Boarding House, De Joya Alangilan, Inicbulan Elementary School, JAPMES, Dalig, Bukal, Gulod, Lyn Ville Subdivision, Mount View, El Sitio from Taal, San Nicolas, Lemery, Cuta Brgy Hall, Malitam. A total of 728 families received bags of relief goods.

January 17. Bags of relief goods were brought to Tingga Libac, Tabangao Ambuling, Dumuclay Ilaya, Bolbok Elementary School, Malitam Elem/National HIgh School, JAPMES, Paharang West, Taisan Evacuation Cneter, Dagatan Elementary School, St. Peter Subdivision -Alangilan, Lapulapu 2nd, Recto Calicanto, Banaba and Alitagtag (Agoncillo). A total of 494 families served.


January 18. South Elementary School, Calicanto, Tulo River (additional 2 sacks of rice given on Jan 21), Bilogo Purok 7, Recto Calicanto, Pallocan, Ibaan, Maipa, Dalig, Sitio Santolan-Alangilan, Balimbing-San Pascual, Mayuro-Rosario, Baybayin-Rosario, Alupay-Rosario, Pinagsibaan Brgy Hall- Rosario, Putingkahoy Elem School, Sto. Nino, Subd- Bolbok, Golden Country Home, Macatangay Subd.  A total of 679 families served.

January 20. Mercedes Home (Soro-soro), Starville Subd Chapel, Sitio Calumpang-Alangilan, Remo Residence- Twin Villa Subd Alangilan, Arman Residence Twinvilla Subd- Alangilan, Conception,/Mahabang Parang, Tangisan-Libjo, Diversion-Bolbok, DAlig, Pook ng Kapitan Elementary School, Macalamcam B. Rosario, Sinala Bauan, San JUan-Quipot, Malalim, San Antonio (San Pascual), Nueva Villa Subd, Alangilan and Kumintang Ibaba, Sir Ace Gutierrez, Sam Pascual Baylon Parish Bago Ibaan, Pallocan East (Taal), Pallocan West, Conception, Brgy 21, Brgy Hall, Sta. Rita, Dumantay, Muson from Sta. January 21. Kumintang Ilaya, Haligue Sitio Binutibot, Brgy 4, Brgy 2, Escorp Lomi Hauz, Madonna Sbud- Alangialn, Lipa, San Juan Coloconto, Banaba East Elem, School, Banaba East, Jesus Nazareth Hospital, Green Valley Poblacion, Mercedes Home Soro-soro, Brgy Quipot Aguila San Jose, Twin Villa Subd Kumintang, Pallocan West, Vista de Oro-Sta Rita Ilaya, Bilogo, Bats City, Brgy 5 & 8, Parish of Fr. Milo Malabuyoc from Talisay. A total of 1,546 families served.

January 22.  Families were served in Conde Labac, Kumintang Ibaba, Soro-soro Curva, Sta Rita Apple, Innland Resort, Malaking Pook National High School, Highland Gulod Itaas, Alitagtag c/o Sr. Ludy, Gulod Labac, Sitio D'Hope, Villa Mercedes Sta Rita Karsada, Brgy 9, Mt. View from Lemery, As-is from Taal and Lemery, Brgy 1, Talumpok West, Talumpok East, Dumantay fron Taal, From Lemery Agoncillo and Taal c/o SBC Molians Rosario, Kumintang Ilaya (Agoncillo), Kumintang Ialang (Lemery), Brgy 1, Mahabang Dahilig, Libjo Lamao, Bloom Field, Subd, San Pascual, Plata Compound Kumintang Ilaya, Pallocan Lagaslasan, Escorp Lomi Hauz, Diversion Road Bolbon and Bilogo. A total of 605 families served.

January 23. Recipients of donations were those in Bayanan elentary School, Mbini, Cuenca, Calicanto, Cuta Jerason, Sterling Height, Alangilan (Talisay, Taal), Brgy 19, Bats City (Lemery, Taal), Sirang Lupa, Bilogo Taysan BAts (Lemery), Bayanan SP, Tangile, Nueva Villa, De las Alas Carnation St., Talumpok West, Calicanto Purok 3, Ibaan Batangas (Agoncillo), Sta. Rita Relocation, Conde Labac, Gulod, Itaas- PUrok 1, First Gas (Cluster Subd) Taal at Agoncillo, Centro Dalig- San Pedro (Lemery at Agoncillo), Pallocan West, Bolbok Diversion (Lemery( and AlitagtagA total of 499 families served.

January 24. Families received donations in Gulod, Labac, San Mariano-San Pascual, Bucal Elem School, San Miguel, Sta. Rita Happy Valley, Libjo, Callejon, Betsaida Subd., Pulo Balagtas, Tabangao Aplaya-Sition Lipunan (Tanauan, Taal, San Nicolas), Sirang Lupa (Additional), Calicanto, Tingga Labac, SAn Pascual, Lodlod Lipa City (Mataas na Kahoy, Soro-soro Mercedes Homes (Laurel). A total of 520 families.

January 25. Families in Pallocan East (Agoncillo, Lemery, Taal), Libjo Tangisan from Taal, Cuta from Lemery, Bolbok Purok 4 (San Nicolas).  A total of 86 families.

January 27. Tabangao Sitio Lipunan, Cuta Brgy Hall (Taal, Lemery), Ferry (Agoncillo), Brgy 12, San Jose Batangas, Brgy 24 (Lemery). A total of 120 families.

January 29. Families in San Pascual, Nicole Reyes from Agoncillo (College Student), Giovanni Cueto form Taal (College Student), Danver Landicho from Agoncillo (College Student), Franceska Alamcen from Lemery (College Student), Talumpok Kanluran, Pallocan and De Joya Compound AlangilanA total of 23 families.

January 30. Camillus Hospital and Sta. Rita Batangas135 families

January 31. Balete, BatangasA total of 28 families.

February 1. Coloconto, San Juan. A total of 20 families.

February 4. Sta. Teresita and Alitagtag, NHS- Talaibon IbaanA total of 133 families.

February 5. Malainin, Ibaan and Family of BSU Student.  A total of 136 families

February 7. 
Calicanto Batangas City, Laurel Batangas. A total of 499 families

February 8. Colocanto, San Juan, Noble St. Batangas City, Dumantay Batangas City. A total of 22 families.


February 10. Cuta, Batangas City. Two (2) families

February 11. Balete, Batangas City. Eleven (11) families


February 13.  Talisay, Batangas. A total of 500 families received donations.

Grand total of families served as of February 13, 2020 is  8, 286. 

St. Bridget College and the Religious of the Good Shepherd Province of Philippines-Japan are grateful to the individuals, alumni, students, friends and families who have sent their donations in cash and in kind so that we can reach out to those affected by the eruption of Taal Volcano.

Items that were donated included water, toiletries, biscuits, slippers, noodles, candies, canned goods, toys, blankets, bed sheets, pails and other plastic wares, groceries, clothes, t-shirts, pants, diapers, mats, fresh eggs, dishwashing liquid, sanitary napkins, toilet paper, tumblers and towels, detergent bars, bath soap, toothbrushes, toothpaste, shampoo, underwear, rice, pillows, hygiene kits, pizza, rice, coffee, chocolate drink, face masks, garbage bags and other assorted goods.

SBC also conducted on January 23, 2020, an activity called DASAL (DAsal, Aral, Sayaw, Awit at Laro) for the children in evacuation centers. The venue was Julian A Pastor Memorial Elementary School.

SBC students and faculty also offered their services as volunteers of Red Cross.

Sr. Teresita Figueroa RGS said that SBC went for  relief operations in Agoncillo, one of the hardest hit by the Taal eruption. She said, “Taal volcano is so near and place is still full of ashfall. We were advised to wear masks and googles as protection.”

On Feb. 22, 2020 , Sr. Celeste YUzon local leader of SBC Community said  they went to San Luis and Agoncillo for distribution of relief goods to families. She said “it was heartbreaking as  so many people need help... God is our strength!
