Local Leaders' Meeting of Good Shepherd Sisters held in Baguio City
Local Leaders of Good Shepherd Sisters in the Philippines hold their 2012 meeting at the Good Shepherd Convent in Baguio City from May 18-23, 2012.

The participants include, 22 local leaders from the apostolic communities and four from the contemplative communities. The Province Leadership Team organizes this annual meeting which is also attended by the province treasurer and province secretary.
The theme of the 2012 Local Leaders' Meeting is, "Forging Hope in Embracing the Centennial Challenges."
Sr. Cecilia Torres, province leader, presented the objectives of the meeting. These are:
1) To proclaim with the hope the experiences in our local communities and ministries
2) To create a Sacred Space toward a covenant of transformative leadership
3) To celebrate the Centennial Blessing of siksik, liglig, umaapaw at nagbibigay buhay na kagandahang loob.
The annual meeting is a preparation for the new apostolic year 2012-2013. Quoting Sr. Mary Euphrasia, Sr. Cecile welcomed the participants, ".. be firm in your commitments, generous and unshaken inthe face of difficulty, so you will become capable of great works your zeal makes you long for."

While the local leaders will look into the Broad Directions set during the 2008 Provincial Chapter, they will also implement the plans and celebrations for 2012 Centennial, a hundred years of Good Shepherd Sisters in the Philippines.
Sr. Jeva Sumbillo, newly-installed local leader of Baguio community, also welcomed the participants. She succeeded Sr.M. Guadalupe Bautista. This November 2012, Baguio will also celebrate its 60th year of service in the Cordillera.
During the first one and half days of the meeting, four resource persons from the Formation Team of the Philippine Province shared the new learnings they had during the first module of the Asia-Pacific Formators' Program held in Maryridge, Tagaytay from October to November 2011. Srs. Teresita Figueroa, Teresa Danganan, Emma Marzan and Maria Teresa Mahinay presented the sessions that dealt on Spirituality, Sacred Space towards Covenant of transformative leadership, among others.
Local leaders also identified the blessings and challenges of the past year and the first 100 years of the Good Shepherd Sisters in the Philippines to see how they can better serve the people especially women and children and live the Good Shepherd mission of reconciliation.
