In 1996, during the Bicentennial of the Birth of St. Mary
Euphrasia (1796-1996), the Philippine Province of the Good Shepherd launched the
St. Mary Euphrasia Scholarship Fund to help poor but deserving students from the
different parts of the country.
Qualifications of Scholar: poor but has capacity to learn and
is able to supplement assistance given: by working (if college student),
counterpart from the family, and from efforts of a Good Shepherd community
recommending the scholar.
Good Shepherd Communities are responsible not only for the
academic performance of the scholars but also for their spiritual and moral
formation.
The scholarship program has helped students enrolled in grade
school, high school and college.
Funds for the Scholarship come from savings of communities, cash gifts received
during professions and anniversaries of Sisters, and donations from families,
friends and benefactors.
